LCPOA HORSE COMMUNITY -BEWARE!!
Do NOT be fooled by Michael Ghafouri, Steve Brown, Tsun-I Wang or MDM Auger professing to love horses and support trails, when none of them are equestrians nor live on horse property.
There are 5 directors on our board. When three are always in agreement, they are referred to as the board majority. The majority has control over all issues to be voted on. This is why keeping the majority is so important. Currently, Paul Gaarenstroom, Roy Paulson and Rick DeAndero are the board majority. Voting for Steve Brown and Michael Ghafouri, who align with Tsun-I Wang (current director) means they will take over control of our board if elected.
Why is this a problem for our equestrian community? First, the two candidates Michael Ghafouri and Steve Brown know they will lose votes if they don’t profess to love horses and trails. So of course that is what they are saying. Neither has anything to do with horses. Nor does Tsun-I Wang.
Our current Board Majority (Roy Paulson, Paul Gaarenstroom, and Rick DeAndero) have always voted and supported all things related to horses and trails. They are true equestrian families. David Boyd, our candidate along with Roy Paulson, is an equestrian himself and has promised to support our equestrian way of life when elected.
Here are the scary facts if Steve Brown and Michael Ghafouri become the board majority along with with Tsun-I Wang.
1. Steve Brown tells you what you want to hear. Even if it is not true. He has been running with Michael Ghafouri who has a proven track record of not supporting our equestrian lifestyle nor our trails. It is highly probable that Steve will vote in step with Michael on trails topics.
2. Michael Ghafouri has voted NO on 100% of all board items related to horses and trails. Please go to the Trails tab on this website to see for yourself. He will never support our trail network. Worse, along with Steve Brown and Tsun-I Wang, they might decide to vacate all the POA trail easements. That would remove all POA trail insurance. The result would be that trail liability would become the responsibility of the property owner on whose property that trail is located. I can’t think of a faster way to shut down trails if that happens to avoid personal liability.
3. Tsun-I Wang ran on a platform (and posted this on his website last year):
“Approximately 6-8% of our residents actively use the majority of our trails. This disparity raises concerns about the equitable distribution of resources. Are we truly maximizing benefits for the entire community when such a small fraction enjoys these amenities at the expense of everyone else?
Additionally, the expansion of trails increases our community's liability. With more trails comes a higher potential for accidents, injuries, and legal disputes.
Our association should not be burdened with the financial and legal risks of maintaining an extensive trail network that serves only a limited portion of our residents.”
Vote for Roy Paulson and David Boyd!
Vote YES for horses and all things horse related!
Vote YES for full support of La CRESTA’s equestrian lifestyle!
