Setting the Record Straight
Who would want to LOWER our RESERVES?
It has been proposed a number of times by a current candidate and sitting board member, that we have excessive funds in our reserves and we should rebate these funds to our members. Please know that low reserves can lead to:
1. Less competitive bids from vendors for road work, etc
2. Difficulty recruiting vendors for big projects
3. Potential Special Assessments for all property owners to pay
4. Eventual POA Bankruptcy (suspected end game for some)
Please listen to this video for reasons why this can lead to financial collapse for the POA.

Vote for David Boyd and Roy Paulson
Our Road Committee Blocked by a Sitting Director and Candidate
Have you ever wondered who takes responsibility for overseeing the maintenance of the primary 26 miles of roads in our POA? Answer: The LCPOA Road Committee. This is a dedicated group of 11 members who volunteer uncountable hours to this community. This committee includes recognized experts on roads who provide invaluable (and free) oversite. You will often see our dedicated road committee volunteers inspecting our roads and checking for adequate drainage even during downpours.
Typically, the road committee, with assistance from paid consultants, devises an annual plan for the upcoming year which helps to prioritize road and drainage needs and costs. That scope of work is put out to bid with a dozen or so qualified contractors. All conforming bids are reviewed by the committee and recommendations are documented. Just the process of getting bids is a huge undertaking. Once that documentation is complete, the information is forwarded to the five board directors and a vote is taken to move the project forward. Because the process takes at least half a year to complete, the road committee chair provides a monthly committee report to the LCPOA board, so they are kept appraised of the committee’s progress on all road activities.
There have been a few postings on social media that our road maintenance was being ignored. Some blamed our volunteer road committee for not doing their job. That was not the case. The 2024 annual road plan was timely submitted to the board for approval in 2024. Unfortunately, two 2024 board members, took advantage of the hospitalization of the then president and voted ‘Nay” to allow the project to move forward. That created a 2 to 2 standstill which was not resolved until the new board was seated after the October 2024 election. By the time the project could get underway, we were in the rainy season which meant the road repairs needed to wait until the spring of 2025.
5G Towers are NOT Welcome
You might wonder why this topic is included. Well, after a recent open session LCPOA board meeting, rumors began to circulate that David and Roy were in support of a 5G tower in La Cresta. Further, rumor had it that they were going to profit from this. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Keep La Cresta as We Know it!
La Cresta is Paradise. Help us Keep it that Way!
Commercial Business in La Cresta???
Much controversy on the topic of commercial businesses being invited to La Cresta ensued after false information was spread at a recent LCPOA open session meeting. The conflict centered around the Governing Documents Committee. David Boyd is the chairman and Roy Paulson is the board liaison to this committee.
1. No one on the Governing Documents Committee has proposed a single thing (in contrast to the false rumors being spread on social media).
2. Roy and David DO NOT support bringing in big box stores or 5G towers as agitators are stating..
Please listen to this video for further details.
Is Dissolving the POA their Goal?
There has been a copy of a 2015 email sent around to many LCPOA members recently. No one seems to know the sender. Regardless, it sounds like there are some who would prefer to eliminate our POA. If that is their goal, you might wonder moving forward:
1. Who will maintain the 26 miles of roads?
2. Who will insure the roads?
3. What will happen to the trails which would not longer be insured nor maintained.
If this is of interest to you, please refer to the "2015 EMAIL" under SETTING the RECORD STRAIGHT => click on DOCUMENTS. You can also listen to this video for more information.
What our Opposition has Proposed
Firing our Management Company?
Firing our Vendors?
Firing our Legal Counsel?
Paying for cul-de-sac maintenance contrary to our existing Governing Documents
Dismantling our Architectural Committee
Governing Documents Clarification
Let's set the record straight.
Many posts and comments made both on social media and at our open session by a former member of the Governing Documents committee are absolutely false.
This video will clarify the process the committee is following and will make the role that David Boyd, Chair of this committee has accepted.
